Catering

In order to make your event trouble free, we are able to offer the services of a range of professional caterers to assist you. These professional catering companies are fully versed with our facilities and have experience in set-up and presentation in our venues. 

Different events have different requirements, from a simple tea/coffee station for a short lecture to a formal dinner for a wedding reception, the following companies will be able to provide quotations for your function to satisfy your individual requirements. These catering companies are specially recommended by Somerville House, and are the only approved catering providers permitted to use our premises.

Audio / Visual

Somerville House have two preferred and highly experience audio visual providers to assist with your event needs, GL Audio and QLight. It is the responsibility of the hirer to liaise directly with audio visual contractors.

Inventory

Basic linen such as tablecloths are supplied inclusive of the hire booking. 

Inventory Hire is available at the following charges:

Tea and coffee station (chinaware): $1.30
Bar establishment (glassware): $1.50
Table setting (glassware, china and cutlery): $3.50 

Security

Somerville House has 24/7 on-site Security. There may be occasions when your function, because of its nature, will require additional security. This will be charged at $60 per hour.


Cleaning

General cleaning is included in your hire, however should your event generate excessive rubbish and require additional cleaning an additional charge will be included in your final invoice. This will be charged at $60 per hour.


Venue Supervisor

Depending on the size and nature of your hire, the Venue Supervisor will be in attendance to ensure the smooth running of the event. This will be charged at $60 per hour.

Corporate Events

On the doorstep of Southbank’s bustling cultural and business hub, Somerville House provides the perfect location to host your conference, corporate event or training seminar. Our range of venues present a number of versatile spaces for functions of any size, and facility requirements.

Private Functions

Planning a reunion, celebration or fundraiser, Somerville House has a range of excellent venue spaces to cater for your upcoming private function. With expansive, modern rooms and dining areas in the Foundation Building, including sweeping views of Brisbane city from The Terrace; to the stunning, intimate spaces offered in the Chambers Building, the venues and services on offer can be tailored to suit any occasion.
